Miley Cyrus poked fun at JoJo Siwa‘s new romance — and she just got called out for it!
On Sunday, the Hannah Montana alum made a video appearance during the Dreamland Pride Festival to wish everyone a happy Pride. Appearing in the doorway of a closet, she teased:
“Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you.”

After telling everyone to “have an amazing Pride” and revealing she hasn’t been in the closet “since sixth grade,” Miley joked:
“Alright, I’m going back to get some more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.”

While some fans stood up for the Wrecking Ball artist on X (Twitter), arguing it was clear she was “joking,” others weren’t pleased with the diss! They clapped back:
“I adore Miley but this isn’t OK. JoJo never went back into the closet, SHE’S STILL QUEER!! Again JoJo being with Chris doesn’t erase or change her attraction to women.”
“hello, bisexuality is a thing.”
“Can yall just let bi people exist.”
“miley is wrong for this can we stop invalidating jojo siwa’s queerness? she should know better as an older queer woman herself & i can’t imagine how jojo feels hearing this coming from her idol”
That said, one fan pointed out Miley identifies similarly to JoJo:
“Y’all forget that Miley has also dated men and women, she isn’t ‘clocking’ anyone for being fake or making fun of bi people or dismissing bi/pan people etc. Miley is not being biphobic here, it’s just a joke.”
If you don’t know, Miley has said she identifies as pansexual — and on Celebrity Big Brother UK, JoJo, who once identified as lesbian, revealed she believes queer is a more appropriate term for her sexuality considering she has dated men, women, and non-binary people.
Of course, this comes after the former Nickelodeon child star confirmed her romance with her Celebrity Big Brother UK co-star Chris Hughes — you know, after he posted THAT jaw-dropping bedroom selfie of ’em! The relationship has been controversial from the start, mostly because JoJo was already in a public relationship with Kath Ebbs when she seemingly started catching feelings for the Love Island alum on the reality show. So, while fans have certainly had thoughts about the relationship, they don’t want anyone coming for JoJo’s queerness just because she’s now with a man!
